The Asia-Pacific Gateway for Disaster Risk Reduction and Development (Gateway) has been developed using the open-source software “drupal 7”. The Gateway is a partner initiative which aggregates to the regional level, relevant information from existing online sources in the region thereby promoting an online community of practice. To keep the Gateway up-to-date, relevant and demand-driven, the content uploaded by Gateway partners[1] and other providers such as NDMA/Os is key.
The purpose of this note is to set out the policies for users and content providers. The Gateway team encourages content providers to upload all content that is relevant to the Gateway, in accordance with its mandate, and in adherence to the following:
I. Content must be directly pertaining to work in the area of DRR and development planning. It may also include content pertaining to the transition from response and recovery to mainstreaming DRR and prevention, and the use and/or sharing of effective ICT tools and related policies, legislation and frameworks that can aid in disaster management and risk reduction.
II. Content providers are urged to contact the Gateway administrator, if they find content on the Gateway which is deemed to be inappropriate / inaccurate.
